340 Counterfeit NES Classic Edition Seized By Authorities In North Carolina

The Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force has seized 340 counterfeit NES Classic Edition systems at a shopping mall in North Carolina.

According to a WBTV report, the task force spent two weeks to seize the counterfeits from sellers at the mall, who voluntarily surrendered them. North Carolina’s secretary of state office estimates that the counterfeits are worth over USD800,000. The figure was derived from how much the official games would have sold for.

The task force also advised shoppers to be wary of counterfeits. One way is by checking the quality of the products, and if it’s going for too low, it’s probably fake.
