84 Year Old Trainer Has Caught Almost Every Single Pokemon In Pokemon GO

The success of Pokemon GO has exposed the Pokemon franchise to a wide net of people, especially one group of people who do not usually play video games – the elderly.

83 year old Tan Nai Keow, who is turning 84 this month, probably has a Pokedex larger than yours. The Pokemon GO master is Level 34 and has caught 237 different types of Pokemon, just missing a few that are unavailable in Singapore.

Mdm Tan’s commitment to Pokemon GO is a huge one – she spends 1 to 2 hours a day catching Pokemon daily since March this year, playing the moment she gets up from bed, after dinner, and after her qi-gong lessons. The hobby has helped her to stay healthy and fit.

Last year, the elderly Pokemon GO master was introduced to the game by her 62 year old eldest daughter while she was bored. Her interest grew over time and she even missed a performance at the beach while catching Pokemon.

“There’s a lot (I find cute) though I don’t know how to pronounce most of their names because they are in English. There’s one called Blissey, a fat female character that has a longer lifespan and is good at attacks. There’s “Ah Pui” (fat in Mandarin) (Snorlax)… There’s (a new version of) Pikachu that is male and wears a cap,” Mdm Tan said.
