Pokemon GO X Pokemon Horizons Event Detailed
The Pokemon Company and Niantic have announced a new special event for Pokemon GO.
The event is being held to celebrate the global release of Pokemon Horizons: The Series, running from March 5th to March 11th 2024 in local time. It will feature the debut of a Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat from the series, as well as the addition of Charcadet, Ceruledge, and Armarouge.

In celebration of the release of the new Pokémon animated series Pokémon Horizons: The Series in various countries and regions, Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat is coming to Pokémon GO!* Pokémon and human characters from the animated series will also appear in Pokémon GO.

Pokémon debuts
Time to celebrate—the following Pokémon first discovered in the Paldea region will make their Pokémon GO debuts!
- Charcadet^
- Armarouge
- Ceruledge
A new costumed Pokémon will appear during this event!
- Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat*
*If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!
^You can evolve Charcadet by battling Pokémon while Charcadet is your buddy. It can evolve into Armarouge after you defeat 30 Psychic-type Pokémon, or it can evolve into Ceruledge after you defeat 30 Ghost-type Pokémon. You do not have to defeat these Pokémon with Charcadet.Eggs
The following Pokémon will hatch from 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Eggs. In addition to Charcadet, you can also hatch the usual Pokémon available in those Eggs for this Season.
- Charcadet
After the event ends, Charcadet may hatch from 10 km Eggs.
Event bonuses
- 2× XP for hatching Pokémon.
- Team GO Rocket balloons will appear more frequently.
Surprise encounters
Smile! You might have a surprise encounter with characters and Pokémon seen in Pokémon Horizons: The Series when you take a snapshot during the event!
Featured attack
Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat encountered during the event will know the Charged Attack Volt Tackle.
Volt Tackle
- Trainer Battles: 90 power and decreases Defense by one stage
- Gyms and raids: 90 power

Pokémon GO Web Store Event Bundle
The Ultra Legend Box will be available on the web store for $14.99. This bundle features three Remote Raid Passes, ten Premium Battle Passes, and ten Incubators.
