Square Enix has announced a new title in the Octopath Traveler series called Octopath Traveler: Supreme Ruler of the Continent for smartphones in Japan.

The game has the same HD-2D art style as Octopath Traveler on Nintendo Switch. Although it looks pretty much the same, Octopath Traveler: Supreme Ruler of the Continent is a completely new game, not a port.

Up to 8 players can participate in a battle in this game, evolving the “command battle” gameplay mechanics. Those who wish to try out the game early may register their interest from March 12, 2019. Octopath Traveler: Supreme Ruler of the Continent will launch 2019 in Japan.
