A Sealed Copy Of Super Mario 64 Has Been Auctioned Off For Over $1.5 Milllion

It’s no mystery that the world of videogames and gaming paraphernalia has produced many hot-ticket collectors’ items in the past few years – including the elusive Nintendo PlayStation prototype and rare Pokemon TCG cards. Well, another stunning piece of gaming history recently made some bank at the auction house this week!

Popular auction house Heritage Auctions recently closed an auction for a sealed copy of Super Mario 64 for a whopping $1,560,000. The game was in such pristine condition that WataGames gave it a 9.8 rating on their scale – making it one of most valuable copies of the game in existence.

The auction set a new record for a single video game sale. Previously, a rare copy of The Legend Of Zelda for NES had sold for $870,000, while a rare copy of Super Mario Bros for NES also sold in April for $660,000.
