Amazon Is Still Selling Inferior SNES Classic Editions In The US

A few months ago, we wrote a report on Amazon selling inferior SNES Classic Edition products to customers living in the US. These inferior products did not come with an AC adapter and collector’s poster, but they were still official products meant for distribution in Southeast Asia and Middle East by Active Boeki, the agent in charge of those areas.

It appears Amazon’s recent Lighting Deals have been tainted with the same batch of inferior SNES Classic Edition products. Multiple users on ResetERA were shocked to find their SNES Classic Edition lacking items that they assumed were going to be inside, but some users said they received the complete US version. So it all depends whether you’re lucky or not.

There’s still no explanation how and where Amazon is getting their hands on these units from, and two questions remain – will Nintendo of America honor the warranty for these products, and will collectors care? To remain on the safe side, it’s probably best to purchase a set from another retailer.

Thanks, Glenn.
