Game Trainer has published a survey conducted in May 2020 finding out what games elementary school children are playing the most in Japan.

Coming in at first place is Fortnite at 22.1%, followed by Minecraft in second place at 17.0%, and the popular Animal Crossing: New Horizons at third with 14.1%. Other IPs in the mix include the Pokemon series (6.9%), Super Mario series (6.4%), Super Smash Bros. series (5.1%), Splatoon series (4.8%), and Yo-Kai Watch series (1.6%):
