It looks like even more plans for the dormant Klonoa series may be happening behind the scenes!
Bandai Namco has filed trademarks for “Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series” in both Canada and Europe during December 2021 – indicating that some sort of Klonoa project could be in the works.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of Klonoa possibly making a return. Back in 2019, Bandai Namco registered a mysterious trademark for “Klonoa of the Wind Encore” – indicating that a modern remaster of the Klonoa series could be in the works. More recently this year, Bandai Namco also filed trademarks for both “Waffuu Encore” and “1&2 Encore” in Japan – with “Waffuu” usually referring to the catchphrase of the series’ titular hero.
All of this seems to indicate that the company has plans to release remastered versions of the first two Klonoa games. Of course, we won’t know for sure until Bandai Namco actually makes an official announcement.
We’ll report back if we hear more in the future. Stay tuned!
