Bernie Sanders Wants The Video Game Industry To Unionize
In the last couple of years, we have been hearing increasing cases of video game developers suffering from crunch and all sorts of negative things that come from it.
Today, Bernie Sanders, who is eyeing the Democratic nomination for the 2020 US Presidential Election, urged the video game industry to unionize in order for workers to collectively bargain for better pay and working conditions. It seems Sanders is the first to speak out on this issue on the campaign trail and we hope others would too.
The video game industry made $43 billion in revenue last year. The workers responsible for that profit deserve to collectively bargain as part of a union. I'm glad to see unions like @IATSE and the broader @GameWorkers movement organizing such workers. https://t.co/Ia5gMG2v0w
