Bloomberg: Sources Claim Upgraded Switch Replacement Planned For Release As Early As September

Bloomberg has published yet another report about about a possible “Pro” model for the Switch, which has been increasingly rumored about in recent months.

The report this time is described as an “upgraded replacement” for the Switch, which people “familiar with the matter” claim is set to begin assembly as early as June, and launch officially sometime in September or October. The sources also claim that the new device could be revealed sometime before E3, so that publishers can show off their full range of titles at the event.

One of the notable things about this new rumor is that this new Switch is explicitly meant to replace the older model, and will be sold alongside the Switch-Lite while the standard Switch will be eventually phased out. Bloomberg also reports the new model is likely to come with an increase in retail price, possibly to accommodate its more powerful components.

That said, without any official word from Nintendo, we caution readers to take these reports with a grain of salt. E3 will fast be upon us, and we will be sure to report back with more details should they become available.
