Cadence Of Hyrule To Feature Lots Of Tracks From A Link To The Past, Will Include Puzzle Solving Elements

Developer Brace Yourself Games has shared more information about Cadence of Hyrule during the recently concluded Bitsummit 7 Spirits.

During an interview with 4Gamer, the team discussed about their collaboration with Nintendo including some gameplay tidbits players could expect from the game.

Read on below:

Did Nintendo request for anything considering this is a collaboration title?

Oliver Trujillo, lead designer: “They had quite a hand in supervising the appearance of story details for the Triforce. They emphasized that they wanted the series’ lore and mysteriousness to stay intact even in this title.”

It seems that the graphics have been completely overhauled, with Cadence of Hyrule having a completely new visual look.

Trujillo: “Right. The art team have worked incredibly hard, and spent a long time on the making of it. Apart from the clear pixel sprites, character and background tiles have been made to be more distinct and easier to tell apart, so there has been a good effect on the gameplay as well.”

Ryan Clark, CEO: “For NecroDancer, we only had one graphics artist, but this time we have four. In the last game, players only had one forward-facing sprite, but this time there are sprites for four directions. The quality of the sprites has increased of course, but these sorts of sprites has also been increased as well.”

Around how many tracks from The Legend of Zelda series have been arranged for the game?

Trujillo: “I can’t give a specific number, but I’d just like to say that there are a lot. With particular focus on A Link to the Past, many songs from across the series will show up.”

How else has the game systems been changed from Crypt of the NecroDancer?

Clark: “While the system of moving to the beat hasn’t changed, the feel of the game has changed. For example, this game has included the concept of differences in elevation, and you can utilize that in combat.”

Trujillo: “Also, when you speak of the Zelda series, puzzle solving is one of the main features, and this game also includes puzzle solving elements.”

Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda is slated for release this June 2019 on Switch.
