Capcom Leak Reportedly Reveals Great Ace Attorney Collection For Switch, Monster Hunter Rise Demos, And More

It looks like Capcom, the company behind the Ace Attorney and Monster Hunter series, is getting a bunch of its secrets spilled to the public.

The publisher/developer has recently been struck by a group of ransomware hackers, which has reportedly led to around 1 TB of internal data being stolen from its servers. Following this, the hackers have now apparently leaked out what they have learned about Capcom’s future plans – which (if true) reveal some new titles for 2021, and more information about the upcoming Monster Hunter games for Switch.

Here are the main highlights of the massive leak below, according to various reports:

  • Great Ace Attorney 1 + 2 Collection
    • Heading to Switch/PS4 in Japan
    • A physical release is also apparently in the works, including a 2-in-1 bundle with Ace Attorney Trilogy in Japan.
    • Note: Great Ace Attorney 1 and 2 for 3DS have never been localised for English audiences.
  • Monster Hunter Rise
    • Demos slated for January and March 2021
    • Possible PC release listed for October 2021
  • Monster Hunter Stories 2
    • Apparently launching in June 2021
    • Possible PC release listed for the same month
  • New IP – codenamed “Guillotine”
    • Slated for Switch in February 2021

As always, we caution readers to take this leak with a grain of skepticism, especially given how it was supposedly obtained. At best, we can only wait for Capcom to release an official statement or confirmation about this information in the future.

Following this incident, Capcom has stated that it is “consulting with the police as well as other related authorities while both carrying out an investigation and taking measures to restore its systems”. We’ll report back if we hear any further details about this situation in the future.
