Chinese Hacker Upgrades Nintendo Switch System Memory To 128GB

BTStemp, a hacker and modder living in mainland China, has successfully conducted the world’s first 128GB eMMC NAND swap for Nintendo Switch.

An eMMC NAND swap in layman terms means swapping out the 32GB system memory chip inside every Nintendo Switch with a 128GB one. This isn’t a straightforward task, as encryption keys are required to modify the system file partition.

BTStemp lives in Shenzhen and offers system memory upgrades not only for Nintendo Switch but devices such as the iPhone XS. So if are looking for such a service, perhaps it’s time to fly to Shenzhen one of these days!
