E3 Recap: All The Amiibo Figures Unveiled At E3

Nintendo’s toys-to-life lineup, the amiibo figures, is not dead yet. In fact, Nintendo has shown off a few new amiibo figures this E3, so let us recap on what Nintendo has installed for us.

Splatoon 2 Figures

Nintendo has just released their first paid expansion for Splatoon 2, the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion. It only feels right that they release some Octoling amiibo figures to celebrate.

That is why Nintendo is going to do with the release of both male and female Agent 8, as well as, an octopus amiibo. The figures will be released sometime this summer.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Figures

Nintendo has also shown off two new amiibo figures that will be coming to the Super Smash Bros. line of amiibo figures. The Inkling amiibo, as well as, the Ridley amiibo. Both amiibo figures are due to have similar capabilities as the other Smash line figures and will be released alongside Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on 7 December 2018.

Not shown at E3 but also announced for the Smash amiibo lineup is Daisy. Nintendo has confirmed that Daisy, who will be appearing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an echo character, will get her own amiibo but have yet to show how the figure will look like.

However, with Super Smash Bros. to include old veterans of Smash that did not make it into Super Smash Bros. For Wii U/3DS, it is likely that Nintendo will announce more amiibo figures that to cover all the characters in Ultimate. The characters that Nintendo may announce in the future Smash amiibo line up include:

  1. Young Link (Last Seen: Melee)
  2. Wolf (Last Seen: Brawl)
  3. Pichu (Last Seen: Melee)
  4. Pokemon Trainer, Charizard, Ivysaur, Squirtle (Last Seen: Brawl)
  5. Ice Climbers (Last Seen: Brawl)
  6. Snake (Last Seen: Brawl)

As Nintendo is also no stranger to producing more amiibo for the different costumes just like it did for Bayonetta and Cloud’s amiibo, here are some characters that might be getting another amiibo figure based on our (unsubstantiated) speculations (so don’t quote us):

  1. Link (Breath of the Wild tunic)
  2. Zelda (Link Between Worlds look)
  3. Ganondorf (Ocarina of Time look)
  4. Pikachu (Libre Look)

Wrap up

So that is the recap at Nintendo’s amiibo ambitions this E3. With 5 amiibo figures being shown off and 6 confirmed for release. Collectors of amiibo figures can also prepare their wallet for potentially more Smash amiibo figures to be announced.
