Evercade: A New Handheld Hybrid Console Competitor Set To Launch In 2019

As the Switch enters its third year on the market, it seems a new hybrid console competitor is about to make its debut.

The Evercade is a brand new handheld console that can also connect to a TV. Described as a passion project created by retro gamers for retro gamers, it advertises “unique multi-game retro cartridges” containing titles from “leading games publishers and console platforms”.

According to the FAQ on its official website, the team already has three major publishers on board “with many more to come”. The console will also focus on “quality over quantity”, carrying only the best games from the 8-bit and 16-bit era of consoles. Other features include a PSP-sized screen, 4-5 hour battery life, and save-states.

The Evercade is set to launch in 2019, with exact details coming later this month. If you’re interested in finding out more, you can visit their official website here.
