Famitsu: Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl Sold 1.39 Million Retail Copies In Its First Three Days In Japan

Japanese magazine Famitsu has published some new sales data for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl, revealing just how well the games are doing in Japan.

According to Famitsu, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl sold 1.39 million copies during its first three days on sale in Japan. These sales include physical copies of the games, the download card, as well as the double pack. This astonishing figure makes it the second biggest Switch launch in Japan, just behind Animal Crossing: New Horizonslaunch sales of 1.88 million.

Notably, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl’s launch sales have also surpassed those of Pokemon Sword And Shield in Japan. During the same three day launch period, Pokemon Sword And Shield were recorded as having sold 1.36 million copies by comparison. These sales were also dramatically higher than Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee‘s Japanese launch sales, which only reached around 664,000 copies.
