FIFA 18 Runs At 60 Frames Per Second On Nintendo Switch

FIFA 18 may be running on a custom engine on Nintendo Switch, but it’s performance is up to standard.

According to FIFA 18 supervising producer Andrei Lazarescu, the game runs at 60 frames per second in both docked and handheld mode, so players wouldn’t have to worry about stutters and drops.

In terms of visual fidelity, players can expect to enjoy 1080p on docked, and 720p on handheld.

Check out Andrei’s full comments on how he and his team pulled it off.

We spent a lot of time actually understanding what the console is. In dock, what we’re seeing right now, for example, is 1080p run running at 60 frames per second. When you plug out and you play in handheld it’s 720p. We spent a lot of time making sure that transition happens seamlessly and you still get 60 frames per second.

FIFA 18 launches on Nintendo Switch on September 29, 2017.
