Nintendo has started renewing the first Nintendo Switch Online annual subscriptions that were purchased last year.
Annual subscriptions for individual and family memberships will automatically be renewed unless you cancel your service 48 hours before expiration.
If you have an active annual subscription you will receive the following email from Nintendo:
You can cancel your subscription to Nintendo Switch Online if you deactivate automatic renewal. In this way, the service will be canceled when the current period of validity ends. (Be sure to disable automatic renewal at least 48 hours before your subscription expires.)
Automatic renewal and payment will not be made within 48 hours prior to the end of the current period. Each time an automatic renewal is carried out, its price will be deducted from your Nintendo eShop funds. If you do not have enough Nintendo eShop funds, the automatic renewal price will be paid with the credit card or PayPal account that has been registered for your Nintendo account and established as a payment method for automatic renewal when it is carry out.
The automatic renewal of this subscription to Nintendo Switch Online will be canceled if you do not have sufficient funds and no payment method has been selected when it comes to automatic renewal, or if the payment could not be made for any other reason.
You will continue to have access to the service for the period of time for which you have paid. When this is finished, your subscription will end on the date indicated in the settings. Before canceling your subscription to Nintendo Switch Online, keep the following in mind:
- A subscription to Nintendo Switch Online is required to use the online game in most Nintendo Switch titles.
- You will no longer have the data storage service in the cloud. We cannot guarantee that, once your subscription is over, the saved data stored in the cloud will be kept for a long period of time. However, you can continue to use the save data that has been stored in the console memory.
- Nintendo Entertainment System titles – Nintendo Switch Online are only available to Nintendo Switch Online members.
- If you have purchased a family subscription, the other members of the family group cannot continue using the service when your subscription ends.
Under the terms of the Nintendo Switch Online service, we cannot offer refunds or credit in exchange for the remaining time of your subscription.
