Furukawa: Nintendo Switch Has A Very Long Life Ahead

Nintendo has published the full Q&A for the 79th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, so we are now sharing with you a few important takeaways from the Q&A.

During the Q&A session, an investor asked whether the Nintendo Switch is about to follow the sales trend as the Wii. The investor explained that after the Wii peaked, its sales decreased tremendously.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa pointed out that thanks to huge releases such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee, Nintendo Switch hardware sales contain to remain stable, and he believes it will stay the same way in the future as more games are coming this year and in 2020.

Furukawa ended his response saying he wants to continue to sell the Switch for a very long time, so he thinks the system will have a long lifecycle ahead.
