God Eater 3 Producer: It Took A Long Time To Assess Whether The Game Could Be Ported To Switch

Yesterday, Bandai Namco Entertainment surprised the world by announcing God Eater 3 for Nintendo Switch, coming this July to stores.

Yuya Tomiyama, the producer of God Eater 3, has made a few interesting comments after the game was announced for Nintendo Switch. First, Tomiyama acknowledged the fans that have been demanding for a God Eater game on Switch. As the two God Eater 3 teams were tied up with working on the original version of the game and the upcoming free update, they had to delegate to another team the job to find out whether it was feasible to port God Eater 3 to Switch.

Tomiyama said it took a long time for the team to assess the feasibility of a port, but as they have concluded it would work, they proceeded with announcing the port this week. Tomiyama also confirmed that the Switch version of God Eater 3 will have the exact same contents as the PS4 and Steam versions. Unique to the Switch version, however, is local multiplayer.

The producer also briefly talked about the upcoming free updates version 1.3.0 and 1.4.0. He confirmed that these updates will release simultaneously on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam.

Last but not least, on Tomiyama’s personal Twitter account, the producer hopes with the increase of the God Eater 3 fanbase after the Switch release, he could “tackle the challenge” of improving the game’s service and “create an enjoyable future” together with players.
