Today we have some really hilarious news coming from the land of the rising sun, Japan.

Nintendo released a free smartphone app called Nintendo Switch Parental Controls which allows parents to supervise their children’s playtime on their Nintendo Switch. Besides being able to restrict what kind of titles children could play, the app allows parents to set time limits. Once the time limit is reached, the Nintendo Switch will be locked down by a password that only the parent knows.

Twitter user @himaluna, who’s a parent himself, shared something very interesting from Google. The top Japanese keywords related to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app on Google include “Nintendo Switch Parental Controls unlock”, “Nintendo Switch Parental Controls settings password”, “Nintendo Switch Parental Controls offline”, “Nintendo Switch Parental Controls time unlock”, “Nintendo Switch Parental Controls settings unlock”, and even “Nintendo Switch Parental Controls Settings unlock question”.

@himaluna points out the fact that these are the top keywords related to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app indicates that children are trying to find ways of circumventing the system, but unfortunately, there really isn’t one. He joked that “all the children in Japan are crying”.

The Twitter user also pointed out a “rather embarrassing” notification that the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app sends out whenever a wrong password is entered on the system – “It seems an attempt was made to unlock the Switch but it failed”. He laughed whenever he saw that pop up on his smartphone. @himaluna also recommended parents to not just learn about the features the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app has to offer, but also to play the Nintendo Switch:
