Guide: Completing The Turkey Day Event For Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Thanks to the recent Winter update, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players will be able to enjoy a new event called Turkey Day tomorrow on November 26th.

During the event, the special character Franklin will appear on players’ islands giving them an opportunity to grab some exclusive Turkey Day items and DIY recipes. To help players who want to complete the event quickly, we present a quick guide explaining how to complete the event below.

Basics Of Turkey Day

  • Turkey Day begins on November 26th at 9AM.
  • Once Turkey Day starts, players will be able to find the special character Franklin outside Resident Services, who is the host of the event.
  • Completing the event requires players to gather ingredients for Franklin to cook four Turkey Day dishes in exchange for Turkey Day items and DIY recipes.
  • Players can either collect the ingredients themselves from around their island, or trade fish to their villagers in exchange for the ingredients.
  • After players have completed the dishes for the first time with the ingredients specified by Franklin, they can complete them a second time with added “secret ingredients” for additional rewards.
    • Franklin will not tell the players what the secret ingredient for each dish is, and it must be discovered by talking to villagers.
  • In total, there are four Turkey Day items and 8 DIY recipes/items to collect.
    • The 8 DIY recipes/items will become available at Nook’s Cranny for the remainder of November after Turkey Day has passed.

Turkey Day Dishes

  • There are a total of four Turkey Day dishes that Franklin will need the player’s help to cook, each dish has a different recipe, which Franklin will tell the player after they speak to him.
    • After completing each dish once with the ingredients specified, Franklin will allow players to cook each dish again with an additional ingredient.
    • Each dish has a specific “secret ingredient” which Franklin will not tell the player. Adding the correct secret ingredient to the dish is necessary to earn all possible rewards on Turkey Day.
