On this day 23 years ago, one of the most iconic Legendary Pokemon in the world, Mewtwo, was born.

Mewtwo is a very special Pokemon in the world of Pokemon – it is the only Pokemon to have a birthday. In Pokemon Red and Blue, players discovered Mewtwo was born on February 6 after scientists invented Mewtwo in a lab with the help of Mew’s cells.

Since Mewtwo’s debut in Pokemon Red and Blue, the Legendary Pokemon has become one of the most popular in the world. Mewtwo starred in the very first Pokemon movie and will soon return to the big screens this July with Mewtwo Strikes Back EVOLUTION. Many products of Mewtwo have been made up till this day, and the Pokemon appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a playable fighter.
