Happy 2nd Birthday, Nintendo Switch!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Nintendo Switch!

On March 3, 2017, which is two years ago, the Nintendo Switch was released in Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Europe, North America, and Latin America.

Nintendo Switch is the very first Nintendo home console that could be played on the go. Besides its versatility, the system featured a new type of controller called Joy-Con, which could not only be used for single player but even shared with others for multiplayer.

Thanks to the releases of many brilliant titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo Switch became one of the fastest selling consoles in video game history and is now on pace with Wii.

The Switch has not only offered new and exciting experiences to gamers. It helped to turn around Nintendo’s fortunes after it suffered with the failure of Wii U. Now Nintendo’s future is starting to look brighter than ever after learning from the mistakes they made in the previous generation.

As we’re only two years into the Switch’s lifespan, there are many more exciting games awaiting us from first party, third party, and independent developers. Let’s hope the Switch continues to maintain its momentum and ability to deliver great games for people of all ages and genders in the many years to come.
