Here’s A Closer Look At How Luigi’s Mansion 3DS’s Local Co-Op Works

Today, the embargo for Luigi’s Mansion previews have lifted, giving us a closer look at how local co-op for the 3DS remake works.

In order to play Luigi’s Mansion with another player, both players will need a copy of the game on their respective Nintendo 3DS systems. The second player in the game plays as Slime Green Luigi.

Slime Green Luigi, which still lacks an official name, has several drawbacks. It has 50 health points (HP) rather than Luigi’s 100 health points. It cannot open doors and it cannot pick up keys found in treasure chests.

It’s also said that playing co-op mode makes the game so much easier, as ghosts with 100 HP were “sucked up in mere seconds”.
