Hong Kong Retailers Scalping Ring Fit Adventure For Over USD230

In the last few weeks, Nintendo Switch and Ring Fit Adventure prices soared in Japan and China. Now, something similar is happening in Hong Kong.

According to Hong Kong 01, many retailers across Hong Kong have started jacking up prices for both the Nintendo Switch and Ring Fit Adventure. Many retailers are selling the Nintendo Switch in “forced bundles”, meaning customers are required to buy the console with two games and other accessories. Even after deducting the price of the games and accessories, the Switch alone costs 30% more than its MSRP in Hong Kong.

Things are also going crazy for Ring Fit Adventure, which is being sold for HKD1780 (USD230), nearly double the original MSRP.

Retailers in Hong Kong have justified the price increases because of the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak affecting supply in Hong Kong, as well as increased demand from students who have been told not to go to school in order to control the coronavirus in Hong Kong.
