Iwata Tribute Discovered In Pokemon Ultra Sun And Ultra Moon

With Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter now compatible with Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, a new tribute to late Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has been discovered in the game.

According to GameXplain, if a Pokemon transferred from Pokemon Silver is in your team and you talk to Morimoto in the Game Freak office, Morimoto would say the following:

When we were having trouble fitting all the data in for Gold and Silver, and we were really in a pinch, this amazing guy came along and made a program for us that solved all our problems. He went on to become the amazing president of a real big company soon after that, too.

Which literally explains Iwata’s work on Pokemon Gold and Silver during his early days as a programmer. In fact, he compressed the data so well that he managed to find enough room to fit Pokemon Red and Blue’s Kanto region into Gold and Silver.
