Japan: 50% Of All Video Game Hardware Sold Last Week Were Nintendo Switch

Media Create has released the latest video game sales charts from last week (March 5 to March 11, 2018) in Japan.

First up is a look at the hardware charts. 45,084 Nintendo Switch consoles were sold last week, followed by 14,251 PS4 and 14,112 PS4 Pro systems. The Nintendo 3DS family of systems moved a combined total of 10,284 units.

This means 50% of all video game consoles sold in Japan last week were Nintendo Switch consoles.

On the software side, Splatoon 2 (3rd place, 22,162), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (4th place, 17,329), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (5th place, 11,611), and other Switch titles continue to sell strongly, even though they have been out on the market for some time.

Games that trumped Splatoon 2 were Hokuto ga Gotoku (PS4, 1st place, 123,116) as well as Monster Hunter World (PS4, 2nd place, 25,382).
