Japanese Father Who Broke His Kids’ Nintendo Switch Consoles Remorseful For His Actions

Yesterday, we shared with you an article about a Japanese father destroying not just his sons’ Nintendo Switch consoles but also his sons’ friend’s Nintendo Switch after he found out they fooled him as they were playing games late at night.

Although the article was posted in 2018, it went viral in Japan almost one year later. The father’s actions triggered criticism and condemnation from many Japanese people and people all over the world, as they were disgusted by his way of disciplining his children.

Today, the Japanese father, Shichiri Shinichi, has updated his initial article. He wrote that he “reflected on the situation” and profusely apologized to everyone. He also thanked everyone for criticizing him and giving him advice.

After the commotion online, Shinichi reflected what he had done last year to his children and their friend. He deeply regretted his actions, and believed as a father, he had went to far in punishing his children. He apologized for his actions to his children, as well as their friend and his parents. Shinichi was also surprised that their friend and his parents apologized to him for the matter as well.

Shinichi also revealed that the kids and their friend are still good friends in school, and they have been playing Fortnite on Monday even though they were only allowed to play games on Sundays. Shinichi also pointed out that his sons are around 10 and 20 years old, and he got someone to repair the three Nintendo Switch systems after damaging them.
