Japanese Retailer Warns Customers That Joy-Con Are Easily Broken

Japanese retailer Nojima has put up an interesting warning for customers looking to buy a Nintendo Switch from their website.

On the product page, Nojima recommends customers to purchase extended in-house warranty for their console, which costs 5400 yen for 5 years. The reason is because one of their customers said the following:

“The Joy-Con are easily broken, I ended up having to send two of my Joy-Con for repair. It costs 4000 yen to repair a single Joy-Con, so thank goodness I purchased (Nojima’s) in-house extended warranty!”

And it seems Nojima wasn’t really wrong about this – almost all negative customer reviews for Joy-Con on Amazon Japan are complains about the controllers breaking too soon:
