The Largest Pokemon Center And Permanent Pokemon Cafe Are Opening Next Year

The Pokemon Company has announced plans to open a permanent Pokemon Cafe and Pokemon Center Tokyo DX at Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. East, Tokyo, Japan.

In 1997, the first Pokemon Center was established at Nihonbashi in Tokyo. This marks the return of the Pokemon Center to its original birthplace in 20 years.

Takashimaya, which owns a chain of department stores in Japan, is currently discussing with The Pokemon Company on setting up special events and bringing exclusive merchandise to the upcoming Pokemon Center Tokyo DX and Pokemon Cafe that will be located in their Nihonbashi building.

This also marks the first time in history an official permanent Pokemon Cafe will be set up in the world, as previous Pokemon Cafes were limited time events. Pokemon Center Tokyo DX, when opened next year, is poised to become the largest Pokemon Center in the world, taking up 397 square meters of store space.

Similar to other Pokemon Centers in Japan, Pokemon Center Tokyo DX will offer a huge variety of plushies and other official merchandise that can’t be found elsewhere, and Pokemon Cafe will be serving up Pokemon inspired dishes and beverages.

Pokemon Center Tokyo DX and Pokemon Cafe are scheduled to open March 14, 2018 on the 5th floor of Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. East (2 Chome-11-2 Nihonbashihamachō).
