Lead Localisation Producer Eric Smith Departs From Nintendo After 10 Years

During the weekend, a prominent talent at Nintendo of America finally decided to move on toward wider pastures.

Eric Smith, a lead localisation producer at the company, announced his departure from Nintendo yesterday. Smith has worked on many huge projects, such as translating a majority of the dialogue for Splatoon’s Callie, Marie, Pearl, and Marina. He was also the man responsible for the excellent writing in Paper Mario: Color Splash for the Wii U. He’s also appeared on Nintendo Treehouse Live to talk about upcoming titles like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

In light of his departure, Smith shared the following heartfelt messages on Twitter:

Smith did not share whether he would still around in the gaming industry, or if he was going to work elsewhere.

While it’ll be a shame to see Smith absent from Nintendo Treehouse Live from now on, it looks like he certainly had an illustrious career at the company! We wish him the best for his future endeavors.
