Mossmouth’s massive platforming adventure Spelunky 2 could be on its way to Switch owners in the future, according to Limited Run Games.

UPDATE: Josh Fairhurst has clarified that his statement was unfortunately inaccurate. Check the bottom of this article for more details.

Limited Run Games’ co-founder Josh Fairhurst apparently spilled the beans inside the ‘Nintendo Switch Collectors’ discord group. During one particular conversation about the first Spelunky game, Josh casually chimed in about its sequel heading to Nintendo Switch!

As with all unconfirmed information, we urge readers to take these comments with a grain of salt. While Limited Run Games has a reputation to uphold publicly, their information is still ultimately second-hand in nature.

We’ll be waiting to report back when developer Mossmouth makes any official announcements on the matter.

UPDATE: Following our article, Fairhurst has since clarified what he meant on Discord. Apparently, he was referring to which platform the game would be launching exclusively on, and made a mistake. For now, Spelunky 2 will still remain a PS4 exclusive.

I have no insider knowledge of Spelunky 2 coming to Switch and I'm sorry for confusing people. I mixed up what platform the game was exclusive to and posted that in a Discord. I learned minutes after posting it that I was wrong and that the game is PS4 exclusive.
