More Localization Differences In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Japanese and English versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have a lot in common, but some things are written and presented in a different way.

According to a post on Weibo, in the Japanese version of the game, the Quest Journal is written in Link’s perspective. In the English (US) version, the Quest Journal is presented in the perspective of the game.

Here’s an example of how it’s like, after finding all 13 memories in the game.

JPN (I) remembered all the things we’ve been through. Even just a little bit sooner, (I) wish to see her smiles again with my own eyes

US You’ve visited all 13 locations shown in the pictures, go save her as quickly as you can to ease her burden.

The first person perspective gives a much more personal touch, which puts the player in Link’s shoes.

Do you prefer the first person perspective in the Japanese version, or the perspective of the game in the US localization? Let us know in the comments section.
