Meet The New CEO Of Nintendo Iberica

Following the unfortunate death of Nintendo Iberica CEO Rafael Martínez Moya-Angeler, who passed away at age 51, a new successor has been found to lead the Nintendo subsidiary in Spain and Portugal.

According to Nintendo of Europe’s press release, Antonio López López has been appointed as the new CEO of Nintendo Iberica. López was appointed as CFO of Nintendo Iberica in March 1996, and then CFO and Head of Operations in 2009. Sounds like someone who has a lot of experience under his belt!

Nintendo of Europe today announced the appointment of Antonio López López as the new CEO of Nintendo Ibérica SAU López, 58, joined Nintendo in September 1993 as head of accounting, coinciding with the foundation of the Spanish subsidiary of the Japanese multinational. In March 1996, he was appointed CFO and, in July 2009, CFO and operations, a position he has held to date.

In his more than 24 years in the company, Antonio López has obtained extensive experience in the area of ​​management, experience that he has completed with a Master in Financial Management by ESIC and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration by the British Open University. Before joining Nintendo, he led the areas of Human Resources and Finance in several companies.

Humanist at heart – he is a graduate in European Humanities and Bachelor of Arts in History – and a great lover of reading, López ran his own bookshop in Madrid for several years, a job that he made compatible with positions in the business world.
