Minecraft: Better Together Has Been Submitted To Nintendo

It seems that Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition is not long for this world. It has long been known that the game would soon be replaced by the so-called “Bedrock version”, which allows for cross-platform play between all platforms. And in a recent Twitch stream, the developers of Minecraft revealed that the game has been submitted to Nintendo for approval, meaning a full release is right around the corner.

The “Better Together” update is a big deal for Minecraft, since it is a unified version of the game for all platforms that allows for players on any version of the game to join each other. This “update” will actually come in the form of an entirely new version of the game, simply titled “Minecraft,” while the game currently on the eShop, titled “Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition” will be removed. (Although existing players will be able to keep both versions of the game, new players will only be able to get the Bedrock version.
