Monolith Soft’s Staff Count Reaches Its Highest At 243 Employees

As of February 2020, Xenoblade developer Monolith Soft has grown to 243 employees—its highest employee count ever. This comes amidst the studio ramping up production on several projects that are in development simultaneously: Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, a Legend of Zelda game and a new, unnamed RPG.

Nintendo acquired Monolith Soft from Bandai Namco in 2007. Since then, Monolith Soft has grown in total employees every single year. That brings us to where they are in 2020, sitting at a whopping 243 employees in total working across four studios: that’s more than three times their staff count at its lowest back in 2011!

Here is a nice infographic (courtesy of SiliconEra) to illustrate how Monolith Soft has grown since 2007.

As shown by the graph, this is the biggest amount of employees the company has had working under their roof. And this amount is projected to increase, given that the studio is still working on many projects behind the scenes. Here’s to their continued growth and success, and hopefully we will get to hear more about their new projects soon!
