New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Sold Slightly Better Than Its Wii U Predecessor In Japan

Earlier today, Media Create published the first sales data for New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, which indicated it had sold 166,303 copies at launch.

Now it’s time to compare the launch sales of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe for Nintendo Switch and New Super Mario Bros. U for Wii U. Back in December 2012 when the Wii U launched in Japan, New Super Mario Bros. U moved 160,140 copies at retail, according to Media Create.

This means that the Switch collection of New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U has sold roughly 6000 more copies than its Wii U predecessor, which is not too big of a jump compared to the UK launch.
