Nintendo has announced that they are in the process of acquiring Bandai Namco Studios Singapore.
As announced in an official press release, Nintendo has entered a share transfer agreement with Bandai Namco to acquire the Singapore based development subsidiary. Once the acquisition is complete, the studio will be renamed Nintendo Studios Singapore and continue its operations under CEO Makoto Ishii.
Bandai Namco Singapore mostly specializes in in-game art assets and has worked on a number of Nintendo titles previously, including the Splatoon series. More notably, they were reportedly the studio tapped on to develop Metroid Prime 4 before the project was handed over to Retro Studios. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
