Nintendo Appeals to the Families With New LoZ: Breath of the Wild Mini-series

After appealing to hardcore players and their relatively mature crowd with the Nintendo Switch advertisement, Nintendo has launch a new 3 episode mini-series Kid vs Parent on their Play Nintendo Youtube Channel.

The videos showed off a more heart-warming family side of gaming on a Nintendo Console, a sort of return to their stereotype roots. This come in great contrast with their earlier advertising, especially with the Nintendo Switch, where Nintendo mainly targeted the teens to young-adult category.

In the first video, the mother and son duo explored the use of amiibo and horse taming, they even challenged each other to shield surfing.

In the Second video, the duo took on enemies, even the sort of scary Guardians. They even took on a Shrine Quest and cooked up a meal.

In their final video, the mother and son worked together hand in hand to overcome a few challenging shrines.

The series does showed of Nintendo’s age old mantra to make games that everyone can enjoy together. Despite The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild being a single player game, Nintendo has shown that it is possible to turn such a game into a family bonding session. After all, it’s dangerous to go alone.
