Nintendo Does Not Rule Out Working With Other Platforms On A Case-By-Case Basis

During the Q&A session for investors for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019, an investor brought up the topic of Nintendo working with Amazon to distribute free Nintendo Switch Online codes to Twitch Prime members.

The investor then asked how does Nintendo internally decide who and how to work with platforms run by other companies, which not only include video game platforms such as Xbox One but also services such as Twitch Prime.

Furukawa says that everything works on a “case-by-case basis”. He then explained if both Nintendo and the partner company sees there’s merit to work together in some form, then they would proceed with it. Everything, of course, is up for negotiation.
