Nintendo eShop And Switch Online Subscription Prices Set To Rise In Japan On October 1

Starting next month, Nintendo fans in Japan will probably want to be more frugal with their videogame budgets.

In response to the raising of Japan’s consumption tax from 8% to 10% on 1 October 2019, Nintendo of Japan likewise revealed that its digital prices would also increase in tandem. Namely, eShop prices (for Switch, 3DS, and Wii U) and Switch Online subscriptions will increase to reflect this increased tax rate of 10% (e.g. ¥300 will increase to ¥306, ¥800 to ¥815, ¥2,400 to ¥2,448, and so-forth).

These changes will take effect from 1 October 2019, 00:00 AM. If you use the Japanese eShop often, you may want to make your purchases before this deadline!
