Nintendo Files Patents For Joy-Con Keyboard And Donkey Konga Drums

Back in August 2018, Nintendo filed two patents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for Nintendo Switch.

The patents today are now in public view, giving gamers a glimpse at what Nintendo may be making in the future. First up is a Donkey Konga drum set which contains a pair of drum controllers and a microphone. This can be used in a Donkey Konga game if it ever comes to Switch.

Another interesting patent is a keyboard for Nintendo Switch. Unlike other keyboards out there in the market, this keyboard is powered by the right Joy-Con with the help of the IR Camera, working similarly to the way Nintendo Labo’s Toy-Con piano operates. It doesn’t even need to be connected to the Nintendo Switch dock.

As always, not every patent filed with the US trademark office will ever see the light of day. Which patent do you find the most interesting? Let us know in the comments below!
