Nintendo Files Trademark For “SNES” In Japan

Aside from “Eevee“, Nintendo has filed another trademark application for one of its most well known products in Japan.

The trademark in question is for the “SNES” name, which is the acronym for Nintendo’s classic “Super Nintendo Entertainment System” Console. Curiously, the trademark isn’t for the Japanese name of the console (“Super Famicom” or “SFC”) despite being applied for in Japan.

The trademark applies to “video game program, downloadable video game program, electrical adapter, game equipment, video game consoles, game console controllers” and more.

Could this mean more SNES related products are on the way? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
