Nintendo Goes On A Trademark Registration Spree In China

Last week, Nintendo announced their plans to work with Tencent to sell Nintendo Switch in mainland China.

Following that announcement, we have learned the company has registered not one but 50 trademarks in China. These trademarks include “Super Mario” in Chinese, Big Brain Academy, Wii, Original Nintendo Seal of Quality, and many more. The trademarks were probably registered to protect Nintendo’s IP in China.

You can have a look at the list below:

Keep in mind that the trademarks have not been approved by the Chinese government yet.

Thanks, Brandon.
