It looks like Nintendo will be kicking off this new year on a high note, as its latest continued to dominate 2019!

Famitsu has released new data on the Nintendo Switch in Japan, and its sales numbers are peachier than ever. In particular, the company saw Switch sales jump even higher in 2019 – which now puts 80% of Japan’s hardware market under Nintendo’s thumb!

Here are the main highlights of the report:

• 80% of the hardware market in Japan goes to Nintendo
• 76% specifically is tied to the Switch
• Switch sales saw an increase in sales of 29% year over year
• Famitsu’s data from 1999 to 2019 shows that last year was the best year ever for Nintendo in terms of console sales
