Nintendo Applies Trademark For “Animal Crossing: Let’s Go To The City”

Nintendo of Japan has applied another trademark – albeit one that’s a little bit peculiar.

The trademark is that of Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City, which originally launched for the Wii in Europe. According to the below document, the trademark is listed as a “program for home videogame machine.”

At first glance, this is probably nothing unusual.

However, it’s odd that Nintendo of Japan is the one applying for this trademark, and not Nintendo of Europe. It’s anyone’s guess what the company is doing behind the scenes with the Animal Crossing franchise.
