Nintendo Renews Trademarks For Rhythm Heaven, Golden Sun, And More Titles

Nintendo’s trademark applications for Rhythm Heaven, Golden Sun, Wrecking Crew, and Super Mario Sluggers have been approved in Japan this month.

The company regularly files trademark applications in Japan and other parts of the world in order to protect their IP. Trademarks expire every 10 years in Japan, thus in order to protect them, they have to be renewed whether or not they’re making a new game for the IP. So don’t get your hopes too high on anything.
