Nintendo Shares Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition’s Version Of Infamous Sandwich-Eating Cutscene

Long-time Xenoblade Chronicles fans will probably be familiar with memes about Shulk eating a sandwich, but not actually taking a bite out of it due to the Wii’s limited hardware. With the reveal that Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is updating the whole game with all-new visuals, however – many have been wondering if that hilarious cutscene of Shulk not-eating his sandwich will make a return. Well, that question has been answered today!

Nintendo of Europe has shared that exact scene as it will appear in the Definitive Edition release, perhaps acceding to fans’ requests to finally see it. If you’re new to the series, the cutscene depicts Shulk and his friend Fiora sitting down for a snack.

Of course, fans were quick to laugh and cry about this remastered cutscene – with some wondering if it was kept the same on purpose. Some even made jokes about the forbidden nature of the sandwich.

Regardless of where you stand on the sandwich-eating debate, it’s still pretty cool to see that cutscene receive such a dramatic face-lift after all these years! Let’s hope we get to see a few more of such previews before the game launches on 29 May 2020!
