Nintendo Switch Has Sold Over 36.87 Million Units As Of June 30 2019

Nintendo has published their latest hardware and software earnings results covering the three months ending on June 30th 2019.

In terms of hardware, the Nintendo Switch sold about 2.13 million units over the past three months. This brings up its total lifetime sales to about 36.87 million units. According to the document, Nintendo is aiming to move a total of 18 million Switch units during this fiscal year ending on March 2020. Only time will tell if they manage to achieve that goal.

In terms of software, Nintendo sold a total of 22.61 million software units over the past three months. This means that a total of over 210.13 million Switch games have been sold worldwide.

On that same note, Nintendo also updated its total software sales figures on its website. As of this writing, here are the current Top 10 best selling first-party Switch games of all time:

  1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 17.89 million
  2. Super Mario Odyssey – 14.94 million
  3. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 14.73 million
  4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 13.61 million
  5. Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! – 10.98 million
  6. Splatoon 2 – 9.02 million
  7. Super Mario Party – 6.99 million
  8. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 4.10 million (released January 10)
  9. 1-2 Switch – 3.01 million
  10. Mario Tennis Aces – 2.75 million

Another piece of notable news are some new sales figures for Super Mario Maker 2. According to this document, Super Mario Maker 2 sold about 2.42 million in three days, from its release on June 28 to June 30. Its quite the crowning achievement, and probably means that its on track to enter the above list of best selling first-party Switch games.
